Well HELLO there beautiful!  How in the ever loving heck are you doing?  Spring is FINALLY on it's way!!!  Oh wait ... it doesn't look a lot different for me.  ;)



Anyway ... if you are one of the new people who have joined my list this month ... WELCOME!  You're in for a treat.  If you are one of my ride or die's ... I'm so grateful for you too.  Seriously ... you light my soul on fire when I see you opening up this email way into the week hours of the morning.  Do you girls SLEEP at all???

So no matter WHAT time of the day you're reading this, I'm excited for this month's newsletter.  Grab a cup of coffee, a mimosa or some (ewwwww) water ... and let's get this party started!

COFFEE TALK

Ok so if you're following me on social media you'll know that I've decided to do a "Quest" (aka challenge, for myself).  This is something that my coach Jana Kingsford talks about ... just deciding to do a few things every day, set the period of time and go all in.

This is what I did.

Step one:  decide what my goals were.  I chose three.  1) to focus on my health and weight loss and be really consistent about it.  I've tried and done it all and nothing works anymore and its frustrating the living hell out of me.  That means ... I need to just fall in love with the process and focus on my health.  2) evolve my business brand - I have evolved since quitting my job  but my brand didn't come with me.  3) consistency on social media - I have days where I just was dragging my ass ... I have big goals so I need to show up like it!

Step two:  Choose 3-10 things that I am committed to doing every single day (all related to my three goals)

Step three:  Decide on the length of my quest.  I chose 111 days.  Why?  Because that's how long my private coaching package is.  111 days.  You'll be SHOCKED at where we will be on day 111!!!!

Today, as I write this, I'm on Day 16 of 111.  Exercise is one of my ten things to do daily.  Now that the snow is almost gone I'm back to walking every morning.  I LOVE this spot and the walk helps to reduce cortisol (years of high stress jobs creates some damage over time) but also I feel this huge sense of peace and less resistance from my walks!   

This is SO important when it comes to anything you want to manifest.  REDUCE the resistance you feel toward achieving it!!!  A little more faith and a lot less stress.  Works every time.



FENG SHUI TIP OF THE MONTH

We had so much snow I was starting to feel like we'd still be shovelling it in July but the grass will be green here soon.  One of the things that we (aka Cam) always does each spring as soon as it's nice enough outside, is to wash all of our windows inside and out.  

Windows in Feng Shui represent how we view our world.  If you want a more positive uplifting outlook ... wash em and shine em up!  (plus it just feels better when they are done and when something feels good ... it's good feng shui).



 
p.s. are you noticing my newest pair of shoes???  This is a sneak peek ... I'll be sharing more of them on social media this month.  I love them so much!  (yes ... these are SJP as well).

WHAT (or who) INSPIRES
ME:

Ok so you know that I like to BUY books but it's rare that I finish one.  With my dyslexia my brain gets tired quickly and so I've got maybe a max of 10 pages that I can read at a time before I start to tune out and reading for pleasure is just not something that I do.

HOWEVER, this book might be one of those rarities that I read cover to cover. 



Trevor Moawad is a renowned mindset coach who works with college athletes and football players prior to the NFL draft.  His life is fascinating - he grew up eating, sleeping and breathing mindset work but in working with athletes and studying data, he realized something.

"If someone says something out loud, it's 10 times more powerful than if they think it.  And then as we started to study the data, particularly data that was just reinforced by Christine Porath from Georgetown, and Harvard, that negativity is a multiple of four to seven times more powerful; than positivity.  So think about that.  If I say something out loud, it's 10X.  If it's negative, its four to seven times more powerful.  So when I say negative things out loud, it's 40 to 70 times more likely that that will happen or cause a result that won't be good for me, than if I just didn't say anything."  (interview with Tom Bilyeu)

So he started to test this out with his athletes.  He hoped that they would be positive.  If they couldn't be positive, at all cost ... he just didn't want them to say negative things out loud.  And it worked.

COOL SHIT:

Ok you are NOT going to believe what I have found this month!!    Botox in a box!!!!

Ok not entirely.

In fact no ... it's not at all.  It's more like crack-filler in a box.

Let's back up the bus here a bit.  I have those lines between my eyebrows ... you know what I mean? I call them "WHAT THE FUCK lines" and apparently I've thought this a LOT in my 50 years causing my eyebrows to furrow and create creases.  These suckers are DEEP.  A friend of mine who got botox and filler done was trying to convince me to do this.

Uhhhh no.  I don't like needles to begin with and also ... exactly what IS it that they are injecting in you?  Have you ever wondered????  Yikes.

So as I'm walking through the Health Food Store next to our condo last month, I saw these suckers called FROWNIES.  The aesthetician who worked there said that they are SUPER popular and always out of stock.  So I bought some.



They LOOK ridiculous ... and quite honestly I think it's just paper maiche for your face.  SERIOUSLY like glue on cardstock.  In fact ... duct tape would do the same thing AND remove unwanted brow hairs maybe?  But here's the thing:                            THEY WORK

Who woulda guessed it?  I put them on at night, wake up in the morning and my face is markedly less wrinkly and I've almost gotten completely rid of the third (and less deep) line.  I suspect this is not a permanent cure, but it keeps me away from needles and injectable things.  I love em.

CLIENT SHOWCASE

Last month I think I mentioned that a client of mine was starting a new business.  This is the coolest freaking thing ever.  She is a PARENT COACH!  I just call her the child whisperer ... but parent coach is cool too.  ;)  Plus .. how CUTE is she?



When Cam and I had kids, we decided the goal was just not to fuck them up TOO much.  You know ... set the bar low so we can pole vault it.  The jury is still out on these two yahoos of ours, but WHO KNEW that there is such a thing as a coach for parents to help them understand WHY their kids do the things they do and how WE can REACT more effectively (before we completely lose our shit).

She's brilliant I tell ya.  She has worked with a friend of mine and the transformation she has made in their house has been almost shocking ... in a WEEK my friend couldn't believe the difference.

So you know that my daughter and I are always on the lookout for good tasty (and different salads).  Tik Tok is a really good place for recipes as is the instagram account www.instagram.com/healthyeatgram .  This month we tried a Vegan Thai Chopped Salad from IG (@veganmeal_recipes)

VEGAN THAI CHOPPED SALAD

Ingredients:
3 cups chopped green cabbage
2 cups chopped purple cabbage
1 cup diced cucumber
1/2 cup sliced green onion
1 cup diced bell pepper
1 cup shredded carrots
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
1 cup air fried tofu
1/2 cup chopped roasted cashews

* chop/cube and throw it all in.  This LOOKS cute the way we've placed it but hey ... we are going to TOSS it, so don't stress.

Dressing:
3 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 cup peanut butter
1tsp sriracha
2 tbsp rice vinegar
1tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp garlic

* mix all with a whisk and then pour over the salad and toss.  

Store in the fridge for 5 days!

 Our Tips n Tweaks:

- Cam isn't a huge fan of that peanut butter based thai dressing, but after a huge bowl of it he went back for seconds.  He said it got better and better the more he ate of it.  ha

- we didn't have cashews so I used what I had ... sliced almonds.  Cashews would have been better

- we didn't have tofu on hand so we used chicken.  Meh.  I didn't love the chicken texture with this salad (plus it's not vegan if we add chicken but we did't care what it was called).  I think next time I would substitute chick peas for the tofu, use tofu or omit this part altogether.  It would have been tasty without.

This is a pretty thick sauce vs dressing.  I would add more lime juice or even just some water.  Alternatively we thought that Thai peanut salad dressing you buy in the store would be ok if you had it on hand.  This recipe would have been good with a basic balsamic vinaigrette too.  The options are endless!!!
