Random Thoughts from March 2021

Mar 31, 2021

Hey there girl!!!  Remember last month when I told you that Tim Hortons was gonna let us know that Spring is on it's way????

Well they DID and it IS.  Man oh man I love spring.  There is just something fantastic about the melting snow and being able to wear my flip flops again.  Before I start talking about pedicures, let's move onto coffee talk!

COFFEE TALK

Last week I had a few really cool conversations with people who watched my live video on Tuesday.  I feel like I talked about a LOT of things in that video but one thing seemed to resonate most:

"What if I get to the end of my life, I look back and I WONDER ... what could I have accomplished if I had gone all in?"

That may seem sorta morbid, but I've had more freakin tests lately than I ever thought possible.  Ultrasounds, CT scans (I have another one tomorrow), ECG, X-rays, mammograms.  They've found benign cysts and polyps and random weird things that I've never heard of.  Routinely after each test I would get a call from my doc with "the results" and never did I hear "you're in PERFECT health Sandra."  For someone who lives a fairly healthy lifestyle this is a huge kick in the crotch.  In fact, at one point I told him to STOP scanning organs that I am NOT having issues with.  (For the record ... he stares at me when I say these things without any clue how to respond to me ... he'll get used to me eventually I guess???).

In some ways my own health issues in the middle of this pandemic, have been a blessing.   I have become even more acutely aware of the fragility of life.  My outlook on things have become clearer as well and I have remembered the words of my friend who passed away at age 54.  "Its just not worth it ..." (the worry).

I can guarantee that the mistakes and the fears and the struggles ... they won't matter.

What WILL matter to me, is that I have made a masterpiece of my life.

What WILL matter is that I have continued to grow and evolve and become a better version of myself.

I want to TRULY see, "the me I can be" ... if I drop all of my fears and excuses and go ALL IN.

And I want that for you too.  Each and every day ... I want to know that I've inspired another woman to take a risk and bet on HERSELF, to create her own masterpiece and finding the beauty and strength within her.

So ...

What DO you want to be remembered for?  What legacy do you wish to leave?  What do you want to look back on?

And finally ...

What do you need to do right now, that would help you to drop the bullshit that's holding you from creating YOUR masterpiece?

Grab your journal girl ... surrender to the pen ... write until you feel you're "done".  There is magic here.

FENG SHUI TIP OF THE MONTH

This month I talked about relaxing in our space ... not being so rigid with our design and just allowing ease.  Make it fun.  Make it whimsical.  Make it light.  Make it amazing.

That's how I want my LIFE to be after all so my space is the place that will guide me there.   I love adding some bright gerber daisies to various places in my home.

Same thing with tulips.  LOVE them!  (They were my wedding flower actually).  I like how the stems kinda bend and move however they want to ... it reminds me to just RELAX.

In addition though ... I love love love to use my kids art.  Children have this amazing ability to just let go, you know?  So having their original art in our home is SO powerful to me.  Currently my kids are 16 and 18 years old but YES ... I still have framed artwork from their elementary and preschool days.  It's imperfect and the paper is even creased, but I still love it years and years later.   I also can't get enough of how kids see the world (nor the fact that a dog to a young child is really just two sticks and a box with one eye???)  SO DANG CUTE!!

COOL SHIT I LOVE:

OK so you know that Feng Shui originated in China thousands of years ago.  You might also know that acupuncture is said to have originated there as the earliest "medicine" for easing pain, curing disease and improving general over-all health.    What you might not know is that some wood with a ton of nails in it used to do the trick as well!!!

Known as the Chinese "bed of nails" the board was said to trigger the body's innate way of healing itself by putting pressure on various parts of the body, increasing circulation to those areas resulting in easing of tension, pain and a deep sense of relaxation.  The bed of nails allows us to go into a deep state of meditation too BUT ... I'm not entirely sure that everyone wants a piece of plywood and a thousand nails sticking out of it in their home.  (NOT good feng shui).

The good news??  Now we have a roll up version!!

I looked and looked at these mats for at least a year, wondering if it would help my back pain and you got it ... it really does!  It seemed to take away my aches and pains in my back.   It hurts a bit just initially when you first lay down but once your weight is evenly distributed on it ... it's oddly relaxing!  Seriously ... a modern day bed of nails.  You gotta try it!

 WHAT (or who) INSPIRES ME:

Most of you by now know that I am an Oprah fan.  I love the deep philosophical talks that she has with people and in many respects some of the interviews that she has done have been the pivotal ones that I've never forgotten.  This interview with Carolyn Myss popped up when I was getting lost in the scroll and I found it really thought provoking.

"Intuition, Power and Grace"

Check out the full episode here

"I believe there is no greater calling in life than to devote your talent and gifts to making the world a better place, no matter how large or small your world is."  Carolyn Myss.

 Seriously ... powerful hey?

CLIENT SHOWCASE:

This month I want to feature one of the COOLEST stories every.

One of the chicks in the Wealth Weekend that I ran this month, watched the first video just prior to leaving for work.  She was excited about all of the changes that she was going to make to her home, to her business, to her life.

On her way to work, a patio table with a glass top, fell off of the back of the truck in front of her.  Normally she would take this as a sign of bad luck (for her and also definitely for them lol).  But in this instant, she chose to see things differently.  She noticed how the glass landed in the most beautiful sparkling pattern.  She said it looked like a pile of diamonds that she wanted to pick up and take home with her.  (For the record ... I told her to turn the car around and go pick them up!!!!  The symbolism coming up here is freakin AMAZING and having those glass pieces in her space would be a powerful reminder to her every day).  More than the beauty though ... she FELT it.  She instantly was reminded of the phrase "shattering the glass ceiling" which refers to the barriers that women and minorities have for reaching high ranks in major corporations.  For this girl ... the "glass ceiling" had shattered for her in that moment.  No more fear.  No more barrier.  No more limits!!!!  WOOOOHOOOOO!

We ALL have moments like this.  I truly believe that.  We have moments where the synchronicities are shockingly obvious to us.  The signs from the Universe are screaming at us to hear them.

What often happens is that we choose to protect ourselves ... to keep ourselves small by agreeing with that little voice inside our head that tells us it doesn't mean anything.

But .. it DOES.  The world is full of signs.  Big huge beautiful signs like my client Meg noticed.  Will you choose to pay attention too?

WHAT'S COMIN UP?

THE WEALTH WEEKEND

The weekend is sadly over.  But ....

Ok so full disclosure, you can STILL Purchase the Wealth Weekend replays right now - yes the ones that caused the glass ceiling to shatter Meg last week!!!  They are $111 CAD until April 15th.

Here's the link to the purchase button!

After that, you will NOT be able to purchase on their own at that intro price - but it will be up for resale a little later.

INTRODUCING .... FENG SHUI CHICK AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

I'm so flippin' excited about this you guys you have NOOOOO idea!!!!

I've been wanting to do this for years.

YEARS.

I had so many women in my world who were recommending me to their friends.

For my programs. For my clarity calls. For 1:1 coaching. For this group.

It was like I never had a way to really celebrate them ... or THANK them in a way that I wanted to. I felt so honoured and humbled, that people would shout me out on their IG stories, in their posts and in their communities and I always wanted a way to send a HUGE way of appreciation.

Until it happened to me. I referred a really great program to a friend who I KNEW was the perfect fit for a program. She signed up and I got a payment of $650 in my paypal account. Like WOW. I felt so special!! All for just recommending a friend to a program that I KNEW she would love love love.

... and now ... I can do that for all of you!!!

ANNOUNCING: The Feng Shui Chick Ambassador program. The Ambassador program is a way for me, to thank those of you who recommend me to your friends and family who may need EXACTLY who I am.

HERE IS HOW IT WORKS: Sign up with THIS LINK

Enter your paypal account. KNOW about the program that I'm offering and send YOUR ambassador link to friends who need it. If they purchase (within 30 days of the first time that they click the link) you will receive an AMBASSADOR COMMISSION in your paypal account.

That's it.

TASTY SHIT!

Many of you know that my husband is away for work a lot and my son is in University.  That means my daughter and I cook and we like to explore new recipes.  She often brings me recipes from Tik Tok but THIS one she found on mondernproper.com.  Our tweaks and tips are below this recipe, but here is what the site says:

Easy Healthy Lemon Chicken

  • Boneless chicken breasts (roughly 2.5 lbs)
  • 1/4 cupOlive oil
  • 2 tspOregano, dried
  • 2 tspThyme, dried
  • 2 tspGarlic powder
  • 2 tspSalt, divided
  • ½ tspBlack pepper
  • 1/2 cupDry white wine
  • 2 tbspMinced garlic (6 cloves)
  • 1 tbspLemon zest (2 lemons)
  • 2 tbspLemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 tbspBrown sugar
  • 1Lemon, cut into 6 slices, optional
  1. Heat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry and place them in a 9 x 13 baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, oregano, thyme, garlic powder, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper to create a thick marinade/paste. Coat the chicken breast with seasoning paste.
  4. Using the same bowl mix together the white wine, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, sugar and remaining 1 teaspoon salt. Pour over chicken breast.
  5. If using, nestle the lemon slices between the chicken bake for 15 minutes, baste the chicken with the pan juice, bake for another 15 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken reads 165 F.

Our Tweaks n Tips:

- I doubled the herbs to make it more of a paste.  I LOVED it but Shea felt it was a bit too herby.
- We couldn't taste the wine at all so I think you could skip it if you don't like that flavour or add more if you do (I would add more)
- We would definitely add in some lemon slices before baking or even some wedges in the pan.  Baked and kinda caramelized lemon is so good, but we didn't have enough lemons sadly.
- We only used the juice of one lemon (as that's all we had) but also ... it kinda bugs me when you need the rind of TWO and the juice of ONE.  Who wants to keep a rindless lemon???
- We would serve this with chopped parsley sprinkled over top for colour but we didn't have any and to be honest it smelled so good we tried it right out of the baking dish.  I barely got THIS picture before we devoured it.

Nonetheless ... we both were pleasantly surprised at this recipe and will definitely make it again.

***

Well that's it for random stuff from March!!    Once again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you SO much to all of you who regularly email me, recommend my group, my courses, my coaching or this newsletter to your friends and colleagues, your biz besties and your family.  I appreciate every one of you and every message that I receive.  Remember ...

Yes, actually you CAN do the damn thing!!!
